I served in the Regulating Branch from 1977-1994 and although the exact years escape me from when I met with Derek I reckon they must have been around 1980, 1983 and 1986. He inspired so many of us with his wisdom, knowledge, kindness and humour. A gentleman of the highest order and one who will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
